Texas Hold'em Rules
Texas hold'em poker is played with a standard 52 card deck. The rank of the hands in Texas hold’em is same as in regular poker hands. There are five components to the game the preflop, flop, turn, river and showdown I will break down each component in the following passages.
Preflop:
Each person is dealt one card by the designated dealer face down and then a second card face down.
This is your pocket or hole card that you will be betting on. After betting is complete we come to the second component.
Flop:
The dealer turns over three cards. These are community cards that each player can use to create the
best poker hand possible (this is the flop). After betting is complete we come to the third component.
Turn:
The dealer turns over another community. Each player makes the best hand possible with the four community cards (this is the turn).
After Betting is complete we come to the fourth component.
River:
The dealer turns over another community card. This is the fifth and final community (card this the river). Each player makes the best hold’em hand
with their 5 community cards and the two hole cards. After betting is complete we come to the fifth and final component of Texas Hold'em.
Showdown:
This is the final component each players shows their hand create with the best cards (5 cards total). A player can use any combination of cards from his pocket cards and
four of the community cards to create the best Texas Hold'em hand. If all five of the cards in the community make the best hand then everyone
splits the pot( the board plays).
